Maybe people have been put off joining for the same reason as the author of this blog post about Citizendium editors. I searched CZ for an editor with expertise in the subject area that interests me and I couldn't find one. If I joined, would my contributions be vetted by editors without relevant expertise?

Interesting. Well, the reason that there are editor pages without bios is that, until January or so, we allowed people to make their own accounts, which we then approved; in making the approval, we asked them to create a bio, which they never did.

I think it is reasonable for us to remove the editorships of the people who have *still* not given us biographies. I have put in a request to our Constabulary to remove their editorships.

If you want my opinion, probably the single most popular reason not to sign up for CZ at this time is that people aren't convinced that it's a going concern. But this is not something to worry about, because we are becoming more and more of a going concern. It's just a matter of time, and we'll have enormous numbers of people on board.
